Creative Expressions is an art-therapy group based on the Meet Me at MOMA program that was designed by the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The goal is not the product of artwork, but the process and the connection with other participants.
This weekly program is held in-person and you must attend with a guest.
We encourage individuals living with dementia to speak to their counsellor about participating in this program.
Located in Hagersville, the H.A.C. provides an inclusive environment that specializes in supporting people with dementia, brain injury and vision loss. Our team use a warm and caring approach in programs to encourage everyone.
Our specialized team support participants in maintaining their quality of life through a variety of fun and engaging programs.

Laughter Yoga is a unique exercise routine which combines unconditional laughter with yogic breathing (Pranayama). Participants can laugh without relying on humour, jokes, or comedy. Laughter Yoga is a fun group for any one because it doesn’t require people to be able to comprehend a joke’s punch line to laugh.
This program is held online on Thursday mornings from 10am – 10:45am. Anyone can attend this program and there is no cost.

A diagnosis of dementia does not mean your life is over. There are many things you can do to maintain a healthy lifestyle and slow the progression of dementia.

Minds in Motion is one of our most popular health & wellness programs.
This 2-hour program is held weekly in-person or online and is available to individuals living with early-stage dementia and their guest. The guest can be your partner, or it could be a friend or neighbour. Led by one of our certified exercise facilitators, participants will be able to engage in physical fitness and mentally stimulating activities. Being a part of Minds in Motion will help you establish new friendships with others who are living the same experience.
The cost of this program varies, depending upon funding availability.

Within an instant, a song can spark an individual to reminisce on their past experiences. For most people living with dementia, the ability to remember past experiences is extremely beneficial towards a better quality of life.
The Music for Memory program allows you to borrow an MP3 player for 4 months. We have a vast library of music available, and you get to select the music you would like and our volunteers will load it onto the MP3 player. During your time using the player, our volunteers will contact you and/or your family to gather feedback to ensure that you are benefitting from the program.
This program is provided to you at no cost.
We encourage individuals living with dementia to listen to music. You may speak to your counsellor about accessing this program if you do not have your own source of music.
Having an active social life can reduce your stress, brighten your mood and keep your relationship(s) strong.
The Social Club is an online weekly social group that meets every Wednesday from 11am to Noon. Individuals living with dementia and their guest will participate in different activities together. There is no cost to participate in this program.

A welcoming space offered weekly where persons living with dementia and their care partners can socialize, build support networks, and enjoy dementia-friendly activities together.
Groups are currently meeting in Brantford, Burlington, Halton Hills, Hamilton, Milton, and Simcoe.
Sit to be Fit is a low impact workout for seniors.
The program is designed to promote health and fitness for seniors and those wishing to increase strength, balance, flexibility, and endurance. All these components help to improve and maintain daily living skills.
Anyone can attend this program and there is no cost.
