Celebrating Our Volunteers: Making Waves in Our Communities
This spring, the Alzheimer Society of Brant, Haldimand Norfolk, Hamilton Halton proudly hosted two Volunteer Appreciation Events to honour the dedicated individuals who give their time and energy to support our mission. With the inspiring theme “Volunteers Make Waves,” we celebrated the powerful ripple effect our volunteers create across the communities we serve.
The first event took place on April 30, 2025, at the Waterford Heritage & Agricultural Museum, followed by a second gathering on May 4, 2025, at the Burlington Public Library. Both events brought together volunteers from across our regions for an opportunity to connect, reflect, and be recognized for the difference they make every day.
Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. Whether they’re assisting with social and educational programs, helping at fundraising events, or providing vital administrative support, their commitment helps us offer meaningful services to individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
These appreciation events were not only a chance to celebrate the incredible contributions of our volunteers but also to foster a sense of community and shared purpose. From heartfelt speeches to shared stories and moments of recognition, the events reminded us all of the impact of volunteerism.
To every volunteer who joined us — and to those who continue to serve quietly in the background — thank you. You truly make waves that reach far and wide.
We are deeply grateful to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for providing the funding that made these celebrations possible. Their generous support ensures we can continue to honour and invest in the people who help drive our mission forward.
